Improve My Game Jam 28 Updates


I have a fairly lengthy update log for this one, but I had intended to participate in the Improve My Game Jam 27 and I was unable to upload changes due to some scheduling conflicts.  So this is really kind of like a double submission, stuff from Jam 27 and Jam 28.  New stuff for this one includes:

  • Locked frame rate in a range of 30-60 (It was previously dependent on hardware and ran far faster than was necessary, this game does not need to be running hot for what it does lol.  I don't think anyone was needing 200+ fps for Crabby Seastride).
  • Occlusion Culling to allow for larger maps in the levels.
  • FOV adjustments (Zoomed in view is a little farther away and zoomed out view is a little closer in).
  • Environment Design Improvements (Lighting and adding interest to the edges of the environments that could be seen in the zoomed out view.  All levels from the Hub up to 20).
  • Player jump animation created and implemented.
  • Cash Register and Oven models created and textured, implemented as hazards in the game.
  • 5 new levels added to the hub world with dividers that will be removed as the player progresses through the game.
  • Credits page added at game over and when the player beats the game.
  • End Graphic with a local high score feature that is stored on the players local save file.
  • Pause menu now has music and SFX volume sliders to adjust sound levels.
  • Game Over Graphic added when all lives are lost.
  • New songs (2 new BG songs for the lava levels and 2 new boss BG songs)
  • All bosses now have voice recorded rhymes to taunt the player.
  • Jump Sound implemented for Player.
